WRD has sustainably managed the groundwater supplies for Southern Los Angeles County for 60 years. The Central and West Coast Groundwater Basins provide 50% of the water supply for over 4 million people living in 43 cities. As of 2019, WRD's groundwater replenishment demands are entirely sourced from local recycled water and captured stormwater.
Building upon the sources of WRD's Water Independence Now (WIN) Program, the District initiated WIN 4 ALL to take advantage of available groundwater storage space to further increase the region's use of sustainable groundwater supplies.
WIN 4 ALL will utilize groundwater aquifers to create a locally sustainable water supply for the Los Angeles Basin Region.
