Proposed Local Hazards Mitigation Plan

To prepare for a potential natural disaster, the Water Replenishment District (WRD) has developed a draft Local Hazards Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The LHMP identifies long-term strategies to protect people and property in the event of a natural disaster.

WRD will submit the draft LHMP to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). If the plan is approved, WRD may be eligible for certain grants that will help build regional resiliency against natural disasters. Before WRD sends the draft LHMP to FEMA, WRD invites the public to submit a comment on the draft Plan. The deadline to submit comments has been extended January 31, 2022 at 6:00 pm.

You may view a copy of the draft plan here. If you would like to submit a comment, please click here to access the submission form.
