Probing the Los Angeles Basin - Insights Into Ground-Water Resources and Earthquake Hazards

In conjunction with the Water Replenishment District and the Department of Public Works, USGS is expanding its program to study the geologic history of 1,500 feet of sediment beneath the streets of Los Angeles. The study aims to improve groundwater management in the aquifers of Los Angeles and assesment of earthquake hazards.
