Robert Katherman

Robert "Rob" Katherman presently serves as Board Vice President. Elected to the Board of Directors in 2004, he has more than 30 years of experience in land use planning, environmental impact analysis and governmental and community relations. He presently chairs the Water Resources Committee and is a member of the Administrative and External Affairs Committees.
Director Katherman takes pride in his service to the people of Los Angeles County and brings to the WRD an impressive list of past and present professional and civic activities including Trustee of the Palos Verdes Library District, Water Commissioner of the City of Torrance, Board member of the Los Angeles Harbor College Foundation, and Board member of the San Pedro Peninsula YMCA.
Director Katherman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, and an M.P.A. in Urban / Regional Planning from Cal State University in Long Beach, California.
Director Katherman represents Division Two, which includes the cities of El Segundo, Gardena, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance, and portions of Los Angeles including San Pedro and Wilmington.
